Last week, 17 children and 5 chaperones traveled to Berea College to spend a week Upside Down. Together, we explored what it meant to think like God thinks, see like God sees, and work to encounter the world around us as God loves and encounters God’s creation. We learned what a devotion is, explored how we listen for God while ensuring that we don’t distract others from listening for God, dared to imagine God as Mother with motherly characteristics, and remembered how God loves us extravagantly – which reveals to us how God loves everyone around us too.

Many thanks to Angela Collins, Phil Collier, Buddy Lee, and Ron Smith for accompanying Pastor Renee and our kids on this adventure. We are also deeply grateful to Pastor Mary Alice and her mother, Martha, for hosting us for lunch at their family farm in Richmond, KY on our way back to Louisville.
