Senior Adults at Highland

Highland’s Senior Adults are known as The Cream of the Crop! Cherished for their wisdom, deep faith, good humor, and full life experiences, these elders of retirement age and older are vital in the life of our congregation. In fact, our family of faith would not be whole without their presence among us.

You’ll find our senior adults gathering in the usual spaces of worship and Bible study here at Highland, some teaching classes and participating in worship leadership. You’ll find folks stopping by to check on one another, sending cards or picking up the phone to say hello to a friend that hasn’t been at church in a while.

Our Senior Adult Ministry Group also plans monthly gatherings for all who wish to join in. Activities range from potluck Valentine’s Day luncheons to lunch at favorite regional restaurants to a fall retreat to nourish the spiritual lives of those in this unique life stage. The focus is generally fellowship and remaining connected through this season where life slows down (a little bit!), days are less full, and feelings of isolation can be a challenge.
