Global Partnerships

The Global Partnerships Team works with those engaged in global migration, poverty, health, as well as special projects for God’s work of love that reach beyond our local community. Through collections and distributions of resources, long-term relationship building, support to pastors and field personnel abroad, prayer, and active Global Women groups, Highland seeks to walk alongside those whose needs differ from our own. Our work currently connects us to Morocco, Appalachia, and refugees here in Louisville.

Morocco
The Protestant Church of Morocco, Eglise Evangelique au Maroc (EEAM), partners with the  Comité D’Entraide Internationale (CEI) to minister through local churches who offer hospitality, aide, and care to refugees from sub-Saharan Africa. Our relationship with CEI and the EEAM involves supporting these pastors and workers financially and in other concrete ways. To learn more about our partnership in Morocco please contact Robert Davis.

Global Women https://globalwomengo.org/
We have three women’s mission organizations that foster support and educational opportunities around issues like human trafficking, Appalachian poverty, and refugee experiences.

Migrant and Refugee Welcome in Louisville, KY
Highland seeks to advocate for justice and compassion for and alongside our city’s refugee community. We work with local organizations to offer hands-on support, partnership, and financial offerings. Highlanders have opportunities to educate themselves about national and international migrant issues and organize volunteer efforts to tangibly respond to the needs of immigrant families.

For example, we have welcomed several families through Kentucky Refugee Ministries’ adoption program, we collect school supplies every August for refugee families, and we have hosted local legislators to teach us about recent policies and bills that need our attention.

To learn more about our migrant and refugee welcome efforts please contact Jane Parker.
