Justice

Highland’s congregational bonds form “the family of God in this place,” which ministers to one another in ways that celebrate diversity, honor dignity, welcome newcomers, and promote liberation. Therefore, Highland seeks to embody our call for justice by educating ourselves and advocating with others for racial equity, reparations, the right for all citizens to have adequate housing and educational opportunities, LGBTQ+ inclusion, as well as for migrants and refugees hospitality in Morocco alongside those here in Louisville.

We seek to balance our social activism with compassion because our values and commitments originate with the teaching of Jesus. Our call to love neighbor, self, and God inspires our missional endeavors as we believe that all of creation bears a divine imprint.
