The Jean Janes Global Women’s Mission Group celebrated their 50th anniversary with a banquet Monday night, including both current and former members. The group is named for Jean Janes, wife of Grundy Janes. Grundy grew up at Highland, and some remember him from that era. Jean and Grundy served as missionaries in Chile from 1968-1995.
The Jean Janes group is best known around Highland for its annual yard sale, which has been held nearly every year for about 45 years. The proceeds from this yard sale and other fundraisers over the years go towards mission work of various kinds. They give to international, national, state, local, and church causes.

The group meets the second Monday of each month, September through June, at 7:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall. They invite anyone interested to join them!
