Kathleen Gordon, Financial Secretary

Kathleen joined the staff in February 2020. She manages all aspects of our financial record keeping and reporting. Analysis of data for both Staff and Ministry Groups makes her a valuable resource for the church. Kathleen was born in North Carolina but has lived in Louisville for most of her life. She and her husband are the proud parents of twins.

 

Walter McWhorter, Church Administrator

Walter was hired November 2017 and has been a member of Highland since 1984. Walter oversees the care and use of the building, he works with technology needs within the office, and serves as the staff liaison to the Technology Ministry Group, Congregational Safety resource group, Property & Space Ministry Group, and other teams of lay members. Walter is married to Angela Collins and has one child, Anna Kate McWhorter. 

 

Lauren Blackwell, Administrative Coordinator

Lauren joined the staff in September 2018. She received her MRE degree from Southern Seminary in 1976 and her MSSW from University of Louisville in 1977. Lauren is retired from Seven Counties Services where she was the Division Director for programs serving adults with psychiatric disabilities. Her primary responsibilities include coordinating office volunteers and to help our ministers with administrative work. Lauren and her wife, Diane Brewer, have been members of Highland since 1997. 

 

Jerre Bassett, Full-Time Custodian
Jerre came to Highland from Cathedral of the Assumption, after having been employed there for fifteen years as Maintenance Supervisor. She has been working at Highland since February of 1995. Jerre is married to Frank, and has two children, Frankie and Jason, three grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
