Freedom to Be

This Eastertide, we enter into our final season of Freedom—Freedom to Be. It feels ironic that this final season of our year of freedom ends with countless restrictions, distance, and foreboding.

Here’s what we know: there are brutal moments and beautiful moments ahead of us.

Here’s what we believe: God is present in each one, liberating us with Love.

As a survivor of a global pandemic herself, Julian of Norwich prays, “All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.”

Receive permission this season to be where you are. Take inventory of any resentments or worries that are holding you back from the present moment. Breathe in God’s presence and breathe out your hesitations. Rejoice today that God is making it; possible for you to accept the days as they come.

May we all learn to say, “By the grace of God, I am set free for the living of this day before me.”
