Holy Week Services 2020: God of Promised Lands and Wilderness Journeys

When the trusted points of our lives are lost, may we become free to embrace God’s re-creation of our way of living.

Highland’s 2020 Holy Week Schedule

Holy Week services will be streamed on our Facebook page and YouTube channel. Please note the day and time.

Holy Wednesday Service: April 8, 7:00 p.m.

Join us for a time of reflection and prayer for the Lenten journey during this season of being physically distanced from our faith community. Austin Echols will play organ works of the Lenten season and members of Highland’s Worship Ministry Group will read scripture and poetry.

Maundy Thursday Service: April 9, 7:00 p.m.

The Maundy Thursday Service follows Mandatum novum—a new commandment for a simple, moving service of communion, scripture, and poetry, which will prepare us for the gripping Good Friday Service. Rev. Lauren Jones Mayfield and Rev. Renee Purtlebaugh will lead from their homes. Click here to view the order of worship.

Tenebrae Service, Friday, April 10, 7:00 p.m.

The Service of Darkness based on the ancient word Tenebrae (shadows) commemorates Christ’s suffering and crucifixion. Scriptures will be read by Highland’s ministerial staff and Sanctuary Choir Ensemble will provide music for the service. Click here to view the order of worship.

Easter Sunday Service: April 12, 10:00 a.m.

Jim England, ProclaimerJohn 20:11-18
