Thanksgiving Service & Breakfast, November 28

Make plans now to join us for our annual Thanksgiving worship service on Thursday, November 28, at 8:30 a.m. The sanctuary is full of all ages from our faith community as we sing Thanksgiving hymns, hear scripture, and offer opportunity for you to share your blessings from the past year with our faith community. The entire church is filled with the smell of a bountiful breakfast which is lovingly prepared by our Deacons and served in Fellowship Hall following the service. Childcare is not provided for this service so all of us can be together in the sanctuary.

Habitat for Humanity Thanksgiving Day Offering

The special offering received Thanksgiving morning is very special and crucial to one of Highland’s most important mission projects—Habitat for Humanity. More specifically, this offering will provide affordable housing to needy families by contributing to Highland’s portion of the sponsorship for a Habitat for Humanity home to be built this Spring.

For the last 26 years, a group of Baptist churches has pooled funds and volunteers to build a “Baptist Sponsored” home. The sponsorship fee pays for the materials needed for construction.

Over the last few years, the cost of construction materials has skyrocketed. The sponsorship fee has risen from $25,000 to $50,000. Historically, our contribution has been approximately $3,000. This needs to increase to at least $5,000. We need your contributions. Please plan to give a generous offering this Thanksgiving Day. If you are not attending this service, you can designate an offering during the month for “Habitat for Humanity Home Sponsorship.” Please give generously with a  joyful heart!

This is a long-standing and beloved tradition of Highland’s, and we encourage all to join and bring family or friends along!
