As we move through January with Courage for the Middle, we will seek to encourage one another on the journey! One way we will do this is by saying thank you, as we honor those among us who teach and call us into a deeper understanding of our faith through Bible study, music, and mentor groups. Children, youth and adults have those who have stepped into the role of teacher, facilitator and nurturer of faith development, and so this month will focus on honoring all of those who have said yes to this important role!
There are many ways to honor those who encourage you on your faith journey. You might make homemade cards, bake cookies, write a song or a heartfelt note or create a beautiful piece of artwork. Use your imagination as you think on how to honor the teachers in our midst. As we move through the month, we will have additional suggestions for you as well.
In addition, you can “purchase” a heart in honor of your teacher beginning this Sunday in the Commons. These will be the first formal donations to a new Memorial and Honorarium Fund that the Faithful Giving Ministry Group will unveil formally on Sunday, January 27!
The best part—you have an entire month to express your gratitude! A list of all of Highland’s Bible study teachers will be available throughout the building. If you have any questions, contact Renee Purtlebaugh.
