Reflection from Friday Church by Fred Bogert

Friday Church is such a safe harbor for so many folks who show up storm-tossed and beaten up by the stark realities of daily life. Last Friday was extra cozy. It was wonderful to have the service unfold while folks took turns doting on Jeff and Debbie’s infant grandchild, who helped grandma open the service. “Come to me as children” could not have been more accurately manifested. Even the band spun out the music gently, with our prayers being that much deeper as the light of Christ shone forth from that beautiful, innocent face. I love it when God is both so powerful and so gentle.

This week, we have special guests joining us—a fine quartet called “Zion’s Best” from Hill Street Baptist will join members of our band and other folks to add music to our worship. Come join us!
