Wednesday Night Programming for Children
Our Wednesday evening programming begins a new year each August, and we are ready for the sounds of children busy with play—a child’s way of learning new skills, connecting with their peers, and learning of God’s love through music and activities.
Carol Choir (3’s 4’s & young 5’s), Room 203, 6:00-7:15 p.m. Musical instruction for the young child through singing, movement and playing of instruments. Mission time with stories of the world in which we live and time to discover together how to care for God’s world and how to share God’s love with everyone, because God loves us.
Choristers Choir (K-5th Grade), Children’s Commons, Rooms 201 and 202, 6:00-7:15 p.m. Musical activities involving movement, speech, singing, literacy, and playing of instruments drawing from folk songs, hymns, scripture, and children’s anthems.
Children’s Handbell Choir, Room 200, 6:45-7:15 p.m. Handbell instruction is provided for 4th and 5th grade students.
Wednesday Night Classes for Adults
Classes meet 6:10-7:15 p.m.
Dr. Frank Tupper returns to teaching this March in “Lenten Courage” on March 13, 20, and 27, in Fellowship Hall from 6:10 until 7:15 p.m. Dr. Tupper invites you to take away all the predetermined answers and wonder again about what took place at the Passover, Gethsemane, and the Cross. What happens when Judas tries to force God’s action? What do we make of the silence that Jesus faces as he prays in the garden? What does courage look like as Jesus hangs on the cross? Together we will wonder about God’s will, human dynamics, and a faith journey that is more perilous than we can even fathom. Courage for the journey is possible when we explore the questions together.
Lenten Group for Parents with Young Children
With young children, it can be difficult to find any time to meet with peers to talk about life and faith. Parents with young children are invited to come together for a Lenten Companions small group. The discussion prompts that are in the weekly Lenten emails will serve as fodder for conversation. To participate, please contact Carol Harston.
