The Formation of A Coalition of Urban and Suburban Churches to Help West Louisville

Simmons College of KY announces the formation of a coalition of urban and suburban churches to help remedy the economic deprivation, social isolation and emotional frustration that plagues West Louisville. The Following suburban churches are joining with St. Stephen Church and other urban churches in  participating in the Empower West Louisville Initiative:  Broadway Baptist Church, Crescent Hill Baptist, St. Matthews Episcopal, Highland Baptist, Pewee Valley Presbyterian and the Kentucky Baptist Fellowship.

Panelists will identify challenges and offer solutions for the systemic issues that are facing West Louisville.  This event is free and open to the public.

September 26: Gun Violence Conference

The event will include powerful testimony about the epidemic of gun violence and actions to address it with voices from different sectors in our community includ- ing activists, writers, government and faith leaders. The focus will be on the need for alternative pathways to gun violence.
