2014 Theme: Better Together
We live out our days in a world that values individualism and independence. Youth in our culture are given the task of crafting their own individual identity, focusing on their unique gifts, identifying specific future plans, and creating social media profiles. Yet, no attempts to find our own personal identity in isolation can match our ability to find our true selves in the Body of Christ.
At our 2014 Fall Youth Retreat, we will worship a God who works through human community to make love flesh in our midst. We will follow Jesus whose life, death, and resurrection shows us that God works most powerfully not through words delivered from on high but through relationship. We will explore together the way our gifts, experiences, and wisdom are called forth and integrated into one whole through God’s Spirit. We will remind ourselves of the truth – I find out who I am by finding out who we are together. We will proclaim to one another the truth – we are better together.
