Friends, it is finally here. We have officially received our temporary certificate of occupancy and the second floor construction will be completed this Friday!
This past week, much time and energy was spent placing and hanging paper towel holders, toilet paper holders, and soap/hand sanitizer dispensers. In addition, the new tile floors in our classrooms were buffed and waxed and the carpet installation in our children’s hallways and commons spaces was completed. Base is now installed along all floor edging and our upholsterer will be here this week to measure our bench in the hallway in order to create cushions.
Outside, the stone squares continue to go up on the exterior of the building. The final row near the roof will be installed today! There is some additional concrete correction work that is taking place outside this week on the stairs and the ramp, and once completed, the task of cleaning up our front lawn will begin.
We continue to anticipate that the lobby and yard work will be completed by June 6 in time for the grand reveal of our space on Saturday, June 7, 3:00-5:00 p.m. The space is beautiful and we want to share in the joy of celebrating this space as a community. Please make plans now to join us for this exciting day! With the completion of the baptistry work by the end of June, our Building Love Renovation will soon draw to a close.
We are grateful for everyone’s flexibility as we continue through this season. Thank you for your continued patience as we navigate these waters of renovation together. –Renee Purtlebaugh
