Building Love Renovation Update – Week of March 9

The sun is shining and the weather has been fantastic in the early days of this week for our renovation project! Ironically, the most visible signs of work continue to be indoors. Work continues this bl1 030914week as the hallway near the church offices continue to be prepared for painting. Cabinetry installation is well underway on the second floor, and the wiring for technology access has been completed.

This week has brought the installation of sinks, water fountains, and toilets on the second floor. As these fixtures are placed, the space continues to take shape and it’s possible to imagine a child drinking from the fountain or washing hands at the sink. On the exterior of the building, we expect a delivery of the 2×2 limestone squares that will serve as the new surface for the education building where the yellow brick has been removed.

As you move through the building this week, be sure to take a peek into the nursery suite on the first floor to admire the new pops of color that adorn the walls. The painting project in that area was completed at the end of last week.

bl2 030914We continue to evaluate the ending date for our project and hope to have a solidified schedule to share with you next week. Tentatively, we have rescheduled our grand opening for Saturday, May 17, but will confirm this as time and work continues on.

We are grateful for everyone’s flexibility as we continue through this season. Thank you for your continued patience as we navigate these waters of renovation together. –Renee Purtlebaugh
