Members streamed forward in all our worship services during the weekend of April 28 to place their financial and prayer pledges to our Building Love renovation project for our children and youth spaces as well as a new entrance on Cherokee Road.
243 pledges have now been received. Their total gets us over two-thirds of the way toward our goal of $1.8M in pledges and gifts. Building Love volunteers will reach out by phone to members who have not made a pledge to invite them to do so. We hope every member will make some kind of sacrificial pledge for the future of our facility—a “spiritual home- place” for so many.
“Those who have pledged have been generous and sacrificial in giving. They get that we are paying it forward for the present and future generations of Highland members,” said Pastor Joe Phelps. “I am confident that those who have yet to pledge will do so with the same spirit of gratitude for the chance to be part of something bigger than themselves.”
Current plans have construction beginning in July.
Campaign and other leaders will meet on May 29 to develop a recommendation on how the church should proceed. This recommendation will be announced and brought to the congregation in a called meeting on Sunday, June 9, at noon.
