Preschool

At Highland, our hope and mission is that preschool children will experience the love of God, encounter the transformative story of Jesus, and participate in God's creative work of Love in the world as they grow and explore the faith.

A child in our preschool area ranges in age from birth to young 5s (pre-kindergarten).  Each child encounters God in unique ways, as they hear and wonder about the biblical story, learn songs of the faith through movement, singing, and playing instruments, and learn about people all around the world seeking to share God’s transforming Love with others.

In addition, we seek to connect families of preschool children through fellowship events at various times throughout the year.

Opportunities for Forming

Preschool Bible Study Classes (Infants, Toddlers, 2s, 3s, and 4s, Sunday morning)

Preschool Music and Mission (3s and 4s, Wednesday evening)

Walking Toddlers and 2s/Parent Choir (Wednesday Evening)

 Worship Care

During our 9 am and 11 am Sunday services, worship care is provided for infants, toddlers and preschoolers (pre-kindergarten).  An incredible staff of dedicated volunteers – including parents, grandparents, teachers and others called to nurture children in faith – staff our classrooms during these worship hours.  Worship Care Captains serve as point persons each Sunday of the month as well.  Each volunteer who serves with children on a regular basis has gone through a volunteer screening process which includes a background check.  We also utilize a safety sticker system which uses a common number to connect you with your child and his/her belongings.  This safety sticker is filled out when you drop off your child and is required to pick up your child at the end of the morning.
