Senior Adults
For years, Highland’s Senior Adults, those of retirement age and older, have been known as the Cream of the Crop. We cherish our seniors and are working diligently to create new programs that meet their needs.
Each month, a Saturday outing to a nearby restaurant or park is arranged and in the winter months, those outings focus on fellowship with other generations in our community of faith. Most recently, our Seniors gathered with Young Adults for a potluck lunch and movie afternoon at the church. They have also gathered with Youth (6th-12th grade) and participated in interviews to get to know one another.
As we look to the future, we are hoping to create a yearly Senior Adult retreat to focus on spiritual needs and nourishment, as well as a series of weekday Bible Studies where folks can gather for lunch, fellowship and study together. Bible Study classes are also available for Seniors on Sunday morning at 9:40 a.m.
